Migoto rushed through the doors of the academy and shut them quickly. Some snow flew in from outside and was now starting to melt on the floor. She bit her lip, thinking someone would slip in the forming puddle and break their head open. Migoto instantly unwrapped the scarf from her neck and kneeled down on the floor. She proceeded to wipe up the small mushy snowflakes. She smiled as she did this, thinking she had just saved someone a trip to the infirmary. Someone probably would have slipped on it though. Sure, most of the kids here were pretty smart. But a lot were also very social. They'd probably be texting or talking to someone while they were walking backwards and then slip on it.
When Migoto was finished, she rolled up her scarf and slipped it into the pocket of her coat. Her coat was black and heavy - which usually kept her warm enough. The hood of her coat was traced with fur. She loved the fur! It was extremely soft. But she felt horrible for the animal that had to sacrifice that fur. Other than her coat, she was wearing a black and white striped shirt under it and some lime green skinnie jeans. Her black boots came up midway to her knees and also had fur tracing the tops.
Migoto jumped when her phone started ringing. Her ring tone was 'Crump It Out' from one of Alesana's webisodes. She laughed lightly when she realized it was just her phone breaking the silence. She flipped it open. She had one new text message. It was from Kai. She rolled her eyes and closed her phone, slipping it back in the back pocket of her jeans. She didn't even bother to read it. She would probably look at it after she got back to her dorm.

"So f-f-fucking f-f-freezing," Ashton mumbled to himself slipping his arms into the black Blessthefall sweater and clenching his teeth to stop them from chattering. Even inside of the castle-like building, opened doors and windows let in a draft, and Ash was really sensitive to the cold, so he felt it more than everyone else. It hadn't been the smartest idea to don nothing but his teal and black Mayday Parade shirt before going to class. The stupid water students had been praciticing with ice today, as well, and he'd been stuck with one of them as a partner. Sure, he'd just melted her attempts into a puddle of water on the floor, but got cold and wet doing it. His black hair was drenched and plastered to his face. He couldn't stop his teeth from chattering, and not to mention he didn't want to get sick or anything, because that would just suck.
Being a fire student, he usually would have just turned the water to steam. But since they'd just had a hardcore practice session, and he'd went all out, he was feeling pretty out of breath and weak. It was slowly coming back to him though, slowly. He gradually started to dry his clothes, and then his hair as he walked through the hallways. His pace was snail slow, and his hand was glowing, because the slower he walked, the quicker his energy came back to him. After drying his hair, he gave his head a shake, tugged his fingers through his bangs to test it, then sighed in relief.
He didn't really have a destination, but his pace picked up speed now that he didn't need to conserve his energy. He was still focusing on it though, to keep him warm, so his palms were still emitting a faint reddish light. Humming to himself, he turned a corner... and ran straight into someone.
[Since his palms are lit and he's a fire student, it might just seem like he's going to attack her :P]

Migoto looked up towards the ceiling, trying to see if there was anything interesting up there. But there was nothing. Nothing but a bare ceiling. She sighed and scratched her head. She was bored already. Being outside in the cold kept her alert and energized, but now that she was inside, she had less energy and didn't pay any close attention to her surroundings. She sneezed suddenly and wiped her nose on the sleeve of her coat. She looked at her sleeve and made a disgusted face. There was a trail of snot on it. She quickly wiped her sleeve on her pants, wiping off the snot. She sniffled a little bit and kept walking. It had just been a normal sneeze probably. She sneezed quite a bit actually.
Migoto turned a corner, only to bump into someone. She stumbled and fell on her back. She hit her head on the floor. "Ack!" she shreiked, grabbing the back of her head with her hands. She looked up at the boy who had run into her. She sat herself up and shielded her face with her arms. It hadn't worked too well in defense against Conner, but maybe since she had this huge, thick coat on, she would have better luck.

Ashton bit his lip and backed up a little when he noticed he'd knocked the girl over, palms up and close to his chest in a sort of apologetic gesture. A light red blush creeped into his cheeks and spread slowly, and he ducked his head, running a hand through the back of his black hair. "I'm so sorry," he said quietly, shaking his head. "I should have looked where I was going..."
Ash felt really, really bad for knocking her over, and he hoped that she didn't hold anything against him for it. Taking in her sort of defensive position, he guessed that she was from one of the 'rival' elements. His palms immediatly lost their reddish glow. "Sorry," he said again, nervous now. He absolutely hated awkward situations like this, because he was supposed to be the tough, violent fire student, and he was supposed to want to attack her, and blah blah blah. He did have quite the temper if something were to set him off, but usually he was an all-around nice kid that just wanted to be left alone. He stayed out of people's way, because it was better that way. He didn't get hurt as much.
He extended a hand in offer to help her up - it was the least he could do after knocking her over. "Once again, I'm so sorry," he apologized for the third time, still as red as a cherry. "I-I'm Ashton, by the way." He smiled hesitantly. [He's so shy and sensitive lol]

Migoto let her hands fall down from her face when the boy started apologizing. She sighed in relief. "Oh," she said. "Sorry. I just have a habit of cringing away from fire... since I was attacked by another fire student." She took his hand when he offered it and stood up, brushing some dust off her coat. She unzipped it, feeling warm enough now. "And it's fine," she said. "I wasn't looking where I was going either. I tend to do that a lot." She laughed lightly at herself and shook her head.
Migoto laughed, noticing how shy Ashton was. "It's nice to meet you Ashton," she said with a bright smile. "I'm Migoto. Migoto Fukaku." She grabbed a hair tye from her wrist and put her hair up in a ponytail. "And it really is nice to meet you," she said. "Not many fire students would be caught dead talking with an earth student... unless they were yelling at them."

"You did?" Ashton said, his mouth dropping open and his chocolate-brown eyes going wide. He knew that his fellow fire students could be violent, and he respected that it was in their nature to have a temper - had one himself, after all - but to attack someone like that? With no reason? It really didn't seem fair! He liked his fellow fire students of course, he would follow them into a fight, they were his friends, but he wasn't quite as reckless and cruel as them. At all. "That's horrible," he breathed.
Brushing his dark hair from his eyes, a question burned in his mind. But he didn't want to bring up their arrogant leader, because that might set Migoto off. He swore he recognized her as the leader of the earth element. Earth and Fire were like bone-deep rivals, so the two probably didn't like each other very much. He didn't want to start a fight with Migoto after just meeting her.
He nodded and smiled. "Nice to meet you too." So his suspicions were correct - she was the earth leader. He knew the names of all the leaders, even though most students only bothered to learn their own leaders by name. "I don't yell at people if they're nice, only if they try to annoy me. And you're not annoying, so... you've got nothing to worry about." He smiled.

"Yeah," Migoto said, looking at her fet. "We both cut a corner at the same time and ran into each other, just like you and me just did. I yelled at him - because before that, I hadn't been attacked by a fire student. Then we started fighting and he burned my arm." She held out the arm Conner had burned. "I would probably still have the scar if Al-" Migoto cut herself off. She hadn't really figured this guy out yet. Sure, he didn't care that she had run into him, but would he care if the Earth and Fire leader were friends? She had no idea so she was going to keep her mouth shut about that.
Migoto mentally slapped herself in the face. Since she had cut herself off in the middle of a word, Ashton might get suspicious. Would he push her to tell him what she was going to say? If he did, she would probably just run as fast as she could back to her dorm. Hopefully, Ashton wasn't one for physical fitness.
Migoto smiled again. "Great!" she said in a cheerful tone. "I'm definitely a nice person... if you're on my good side. But I think it's safe to say you're on my good side. Since you're not trying to start a fight." She paused and tucked a loose hair behind her ear. She was surprised when he said he didn't find her annoying. "You're sure I'm not annoying?" she asked. "It's not that I want to be annoying. It's just that a lot of people think I'm annoying because sometimes I talk too much and I'm usually always in a good mood. My brother, Kai, says they're just jealous. I'm not so sure about that though."

Ashton gaped a little when she told him the story about her getting attacked by a fire student, he was still in serious disbelief. He did believe her though, because only if you concentrated really hard, you could see a very faint scar. But he only knew it was there because he knew what he was looking for. So someone pretty skilled with knowing how to heal burns would have to have done that. Either a teacher or a student in one of the higher grades, most likely twelve if they could heal that efficiently. He was about to ask - innocently, because he wasn't the type to pry - when she continued. Then she cut herself off mid-word. Almost involuntarily, his brain started racking the names of the grade twelve fire students whose names began with 'Al'. At one point he paused and mouthed Alex's full name - which made it pretty obvious who he was thinking of. That just seemed so bizzare, it was almost funny? Come on. The fire and earth leaders? Alex HATED the earth students.
"You're on my good side, too," he said shyly, offering a small smile. He wasn't good with the whole sociality thing, and he hoped he was doing alright and talking enough, and not seeming rude with his long silences and pauses. He just learned that usually in life, staying away from people avoided a lot of fights. So he tended to only speak when spoken to, and not many people bothered speaking with the emo kid in the back of the room, staring at sketches or listening to music. He'd heard that some people even thought he was mute, because it was actually rare to hear him speak unless you were in his class and the teacher singled him out purposely.
"I'm sure," he said with a nod. "A good mood is a good thing."
I wish I was in a good mood that often, he thought. Then pushed that thought to the back of his mind. He didn't want this conversation to turn depressing. He'd only just met her, he didn't want to screw things up already.

Migoto tried not too laugh when Ashton gaped a little at her little story of how Coner had burned her. It wasn't that bad... was it? She was sure she could've ended up in much worse shape than that. Conner probably could've killed her if Alex hadn't showed up. Or if Alex hadn't had a change of heart, Alex could've killed her. she was so glad her and Alex were friends now!
Migoto paid close attention when Ashton mouthed something to himself. Oh god! He'd figured it out! Her eyes widened and she gulped. "No, no, no!" she shrieked. "Don't even think that!"
"Good!" she said. "I'm not on a lot of fire students' good sides." She was actually only on Ashton's and Alex's good sides, as far as she could tell. Maybe she could still meet some other fire studnets that didn't care about the rivalries. Then again, maybe not. She'd just have to find out.
"Wow," she said, surprised that Ashton said she wasn't annoying. "You're one of the few people who can stand me!" she said cheerfully. "Congratulations!" It was always amazing how Migoto was always in a good mood! Well... she wasn't in a good mood if someone purposely spilled something on her, but she was in a good mood most of the time. She loved it too. she always knew how to make her friends smile!
