After the whole setting the desk on fire incident in detention Kori figured she needed some more practice. She was worried that she would set something else on fire so she went up to a cliff and sat on the edge, just in case she dropped some fire she wouldn't set anything on fire.
Even though Kori was scared to death of falling in the water she sat at the edge anyway. She held a fireball in both hands and practiced making them bigger and smaller then extinguishing them.
Before Kori knew it the early morning at become late afternoon and she was starving. She meant to stand up and walk away, but something went wrong. She lost her balance and slipped. The next thing she knew she was hanging on the edge merely by her hands. "HOLY HELL!" Kori muttered, trying not to look down at the waters below.
About five minutes passed and the situation finally sunk in. Kori's coal black eyes bugged out, her tiny black skinny jean clad legs began to kick, and a red converse fell off her foot. A cold wind blew and Kori desperately wanted to push the sleeves of her red peacoat up, but couldn't. "SOMEBODY HELP!" Kori yelled, scared to death.

Lily looked up; she was on the bottom of the cliff where you could see the water. There was a person dangling off the edge! "ohmygod. Ohmygod. OHMYGOD!" she squeaked, running towards the top of the cliff as fast as she could. "Ok, what do I do? Use water and ice and help them up that way? Or actually pull them up?!" Lily said to herself, trying not to panic.
Reaching the top of the cliff, Lily leaned over to see who the dangling body belonged to. It was a fire student- she had seen balls of fire on the top of the cliff. But who? Lily didn't know her; well, Lily didn't know any fire students..
"Hi! Uhm, I'm Lily. I guess I'll be rescuing you?" she giggled. Thinking for a second, Lily pulled up a boatload of water, then froze over the top layer down four or five feet, just below the girl's feet. "Ok, I think the ice should be strong enough..." she told her, thinking.

Thank god! Someone had come to save her! "Thank you!" Kori said gratefully, "I'm Kori!" Kori was thinking that Lily would simply pull her up, but then she heard the water. Chancing a look down Kori saw the water rising up and freezing over.
"Agh!" Kori yelped trying to pull herself up. "Wait what?" Kori asked after the girl spoke, "You want me to land on that?" This Lily girl was out of her mind! Kori hated water! If the ice broke when she dropped then she would go in the water and Kori couldn't swim! "Are you sure?" Kori asked, the fear showing on her face.

Lily nodded. "The water's frozen eight feet down now. That's more frozen than a lake in the winter. You will be completely fine, trust me!" she said in her most convincing tone.
It was true though; she had added more ice to the pillar of water so it was frozen eight feet down. The pillar was stable enough to hold a three hundred pound person! Not that Kori was 300 pounds..But it would hold her.
"Now all you have to do is put your feet down! The ice is way beyond stable!" Lily said, bringing the ice up right below Kori's feet. "Unless you have another method you'd like me to try." she added, sensing the fear.

"No!" Kori said getting annoyed, was this girl really here to save her or what? Kori gulped and looked back down at the pillar of ice. After getting over the fact that she would actually have to let go Kori wandered what she would do once she was on the thing.
"Um yeah," Kori said, "So what do I do once I fall on the ice chunk down there? Do I just like happily jump off or what?" Kori knew she should just graciously accept this girls help, but honestly she was scared to death! She would much rather fall into a volcano then a lake, full of water. Ew.

Lily laughed. "No, you don't happily jump off down there." she smiled, "You'll happily jump off up here!" Lily could still sense the fear in Kori's voice, but she is helping her get up without pulling her, which could have included a fall.
"Now jump on! You have nothing to worry about; the pillar is right below you, less than a foot, actually." Lily smiled, trying to assure Kori she'd be fine.

"Okay okay," Kori said and looked back down at the pillar. The pillar was close, but it still scared the shit out of Kori. "Now when I let go and fall on the thing you'll bring me right up? Right?" Kori knew she was being stupid, but still, water, ice, not fun.
After a deep breath Kori said, "Okay I'll drop.... NOW!" And as she said it she let go and closed her eyes tight. Sooner than she thought she was standing on the pillar of ice. She opened her eyes, wide with shock and fear. "Okay get me up quick, please!" Kori said urgently. She didn't like the idea of her being on ice and water for too long.
