any last regrets? aiden, shawn, jacklynn « Thread Started on Dec 7, 2008, 12:38am »
He didn't know where he was going. He didn't know what he was going to do, or who he would talk to. No, on second thought he wouldn't talk to anyone. No one understood the hurt and the pain he was going through. He felt like someone had frozen his heart, then taken a mallet and shattered it into a million tiny peices, so many that even if he tried to fix it, it would never be completely whole again. His own brother, his life, the only person he'd ever loved. The worst part of it all? He knew that he deserved it. He deserved every word his brother threw at him, because now he could feel the pain that Aiden must have felt, knowing that Alex had been lying to them for their entire life. What a role model he was. Telling his brother not to do things, and then doing everything he said was horrible himself. He hadn't been lying when he'd told Aiden he'd contemplated suicide after almost killing the guy. But Aiden hadn't heard what had stopped Alexandre. Aiden had. Because Alex knew that if he killed himself, it would break his younger brothers heart. He kept himself alive so he could go on protecting his brother.
His feet carried him to one of his favourite nightclubs. It had a bar, and he usually never drank, but in a desperate attempt to numb the pain, he downed endless glasses. After a while, his senses started to become cloudy. He couldn't think straight, didn't really know what was going on around him. He decided to return to the Academy and force himself to rest until he was sober. He was dangerous in a mood and state like this. He slammed the car door and took off, flying down the road at speeds that a human couldn't even attempt. If he had been sober, he wouldn't have had a problem. But he wasn't, so he swerved dangerously, more than once.
Memories of his brother increased the anguish and, not thinking, he took his hands off the wheel and ran them through his bangs, depressed. Too late, he remembered that he had been driving. He looked up to see that he'd run a red light. At first he thought everything was going to be alright, but then he saw headlights. A shocked face he thought he should have recognized, a flash of red, and then... nothing.

Derek was anguished beyond belief when he heard about his best friends accident. The worst part of it all, was he knew the reason why Alex had gotten himself drunk. They'd said he'd ran a red light, crashed into another car. Both students of the school, apparently. They'd told him that it was really bad, that he could be dying. They said it was up to luck to decide whether he would live. That wasn't the best thing to hear.
He wanted to break down and cry, but he knew he had to do something first. Aiden was upset, so he'd probably ran to the dorm. He wouldn't have heard. But this was his brother, even if it hurt him, he deserved to know. He didn't knock on the door, even though fire students weren't allowed in the water dorm, and ran straight toward Aiden, stopping short.
"Aiden," he sighed, unsure of how to put it. "I know you're really mad at Alex and all, but... there's something you need to know. You... he was in a car accident, Aiden. They... they don't know if he's going to live." He couldn't help it. He was crying, now. "He's my best friend, and I think that even if you're mad at him, you should know. It..." he sighed, unable to continue. "I heard they just brougth the two of them, your brother and the kid he crashed into, in now. You... you might want to go and see... I'll see you there... if you do."
Tears still pouring down his cheeks, Derek shook his head lightly and left to go see his best friend.

Shawn was driving home from his guitar lessons, which he'd started taking so that he could improve his skills. Though he was smart and could probably get a better job and make a better life for himself, he wanted to be in a band. The life of touring and playing shows looked like the type of thing he wanted to do with his life. He smiled and turned up the radio, rocking out to the new Marianas Trench song. It had been a really great day so far, but he was looking forward to crashing and falling asleep in his bed. He was kind of tired. He drummed his hands on the steering wheel as he braked at a red light. Damn red lights were so annoying sometimes. It wasn't like there was many other people out tonight. Just a sleek black car, which was going incredibly fast. He didn't think much of it though, he recognized the driver. Alexandre was good at driving.
"Oh my god!" he said, shocked when Alex ran the red light... and continued straight toward him. He was considering back up up to get away from him, but he didn't have enough time. He didn't even have the breath to scream before the car smashed straight into him, and he slammed his head against the back of the seat, slipping into unconciousness.

"Jacklynn, your brother has been in an accident." The teacher didn't have much regret in her tone, it was flat, like she was bored. "It's bad, and I've been told to tell you. You might want to go up and see him."

It was dark in the water dorm. The only sound was the little sobs that Aiden made. He couldn't stop. Remembering all the good times he and his brother had, now knowing they were all lies. He never stoped crying ever since the fight that happened today between he two brothers. He let a fresh batch of tears flow down his cheeks. Even though he was very angry with Alexandre, he regreted every word he said today. He wished he could be in his brother's arms right now. Hiding from the world, hiding from his problems, hiding from himself. But he couldn't, all he could do now was cry.
Aiden's eyes were blood-shot and had red rings around his eyes from all the kleenex's he used, trying to wipe the tears away. He didn't move at all, not even when the door flew open. "Go away." Aiden said as he turned away from the door. "If your going to rant on about how I shouldn't have said all those things and-" He was cut off by Derek. He was silent and let Derek speek. "W.. What?" He said quietly turning around slowly to face Derek. His face completely blank when he ran the words through his head once more. His eyes began to over flow with tears once again. Aiden sat there frozen as Derek left the room. He replayed the scene that just happened. Instantly, he stood up and walked over to his dresser. He pulled it open and yanked out a sweater and a jacket. He grabbed his shoes and walked out the door. His destination, the nurses office.
He finally reached the place where his brother was. He walked over to the front desk. "Exuse me miss. Can you show me where Alexandre Blackthorn is? He's my brother." Aiden held back tears when he said the word brother, but he made it.
"Oh. Alright. Right this way." The reseptionist looked pained. As if Aiden wasn't feeling horrible enough already. She lead him through the hall, passing a couple of patients along the way. Finally she stoped. She looked up at Aiden and bit her lip. "He's in there." She said, pointing to the door in front of them, then quickly scuryed off. Aiden placed a hand on the door knob and turned it slowly. He opened the door and gasped. There, lying unconsious on a bed was his brother. Alexandre's hair was stained with blood and his body was covered with hospital tape and stiches and casts and much more. "Oh my god, Alexandre." Aiden knew why this happened.
This was Aiden's fault.
Aiden let the tears flow down his cheeks again as he sat down in a chair by his brother's bed. He wasn't going to leave his brother's side.

Today was along day for Jacklynn. She finished all her homework AND handed it in ON TIME, she ate her favourite food (bean borito and cheese pizza with mashed potatos), played her favourite sport (vollyball) and won and beat her high score in her favourite video game (super mario brothers.) She was tired. When Jacklynn reached her dorm, she ran to her bed and plopped herself on it. She lay there for a while and then got up to get ready to sleep. She grabed her pjama bottoms and a tank top and rushed to the bathroom.
...
She came back to the dorm and sighed. Another good day leads to another good night, she thought to herself. She walked over to her bed and hopped in. Her head just about to hit the pillow when she herd a knock. Jacklynn grunted and slipped out of bed. She walked over to the door and opened it. She was shocked to see a teacher standing there. "Good evening." She said politly and then listened to what the teacher said. "W...What?" She said a lump began to form in her throat. Then the teacher left. Jacklynn stood in the door way, running through what the teacher had said. Jacklynn then ran to her closet and pulled out a sweater and a coat. Then she ran to her bed and grabbed the pillow. She quickly slipped on her shoes and ran out the door.
Once she reached the nurses office, she began to lsow down. Panting for breath, she asked "Exuces Miss. Can you tell me what room Shawn Spencer is in?"
Then reseptionest bit her lip once again, remembering the boy who asked the same question but for a different person. "He's in room 108." She pointed to one of the many halls. "Right down there." Then the woman got back to work.
Jacklynn nodded her head, "Thank you." She said and then walked slowly walked down the hall where the reseptionest told her to go, looking for room 108. Fianlly she reached room 108. She sighed one big sigh and slowly turned the door knob. She opened the door to see the water leader in a chair, his hands covering his face, beside the fire leader who looked severly hurt. She then turned er face to see another body on a bed. A body that was severly hurt. The body of Shawn Spencer. "Shawn!" She screeched, tears began to flow down her cheeks as she droped everything on the ground and ran over to his bed. She fell to the ground sobing. Her brother, hurt. It hurt her just to even think about it, none the less see it. The only question she had in her head was, why?

Aiden was crying in the room over his brother for at least half-an-hour. When he finally stoped, a nurse came in and asked about "Mr. Blackthorn" and "Mr. Spencer. "Mr. Spencer? No, nothing happened so far." He then looked over Alexandre's bed and saw Shawn's face covered in blood. "No," Aiden whispered he then huddled into a ball once again and cryed his eyes out for another half-an-hour.
Finally, he calmed down and just planted his face in his hands and took in deep breaths. The door then opened and he herd a gasp. He didn't move. A feminine voice shreiked and ran began to sob. He herd a light thud and more sobs. He quietly stood up and walked over to the slim feminine body. He knelt down beside the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder. Then when he placed his other hand on her waist and pulled her up. "Are you his sister?" He asked as she continued to sob.
Two hours later...
Both he and the girl were calm and were having a good convertation. He now knew more information about Shawn and he knew her name, Jacklynn. Both now, very good friends.

Alexandre was almost one hundred percent sure that he was unconcious, because all he coul see was black, and he was in a lot of pain. He couldn't quite remember what happened to him at this point, but he was sure that he didn't escape whatever it was with minor injuries. There wasn't a part of his body that wasn't in severe pain, and he struggled to remember things. He could only remember what had happened that morning. He'd woke up like every other day, went to breakfast, considered going to class. His friends had decided to skip out for the day, and this was a perfect chance for him to kick back since his brother was supposed to be away from the school.
Oh, right.
His brother.
The memories hurt more than the wounds as his mind played it all back for him, from the confrontation to the final words Aiden had said before turning his back and walking away. He could perfectly recall the despair he'd felt in falling out with his little brother, his family, his best friend. He didn't want to relive all of that again, so he forced himself to keep thinking. He'd wanted to be alone with his sadness, so he'd left his friends and went... to a bar, he believed. Yes, his favourite nightclub had a bar. He'd had more than a few drinks, probably gotten drunk. Since he hadn't been very concious intoxicated, it was a little harder to remember past this point. But he tried hard, and eventually it came to him. The maniac driving, releasing the wheel, the red light, the car crash.
How bad were his injuries?
It felt bad. Really, really bad. He figured he was coming off of some sort of pain medication, which would have been used up in his blood much faster than in a normal human beings. Vampire blood wasn't used to any form of medication.
He was patient, waiting the entire two hours it took for the groggy feeling to disappear. The pain intensified then, and he groaned softly, his eyes fluttering open. A nurse was standing over him, and he glanced at her.
"How are you feeling?"
"Like I got flattened by a steamroller, and then it backed up and rolled over me again," he admitted.
"Do you want more medication?" she wondered.
He shook his head, and winced when it caused him pain. "No. I'd much rather be concious, thanks. Is... is Shawn alright?"
"We don't know at the moment. He hasn't woke up."
Alex winced. If he dies, it'll be all my fault... he thought bitterly.
"Your brother is here." The nurse interrupted his thoughts. "He was asking about you."
Alexandre turned his head and spotted Aiden standing with someone he recognized as Shawn's sister, Jacklynn Spencer. Then he saw Shawn, and guilt washed over him. I hope he'll be alright...
"Aiden..." he said quietly. "I... I'm so sorry. And Jackynn, your brother... I'm sorry about that too. It was my fault, I was drunk-" he regretted the words the second they were spoke, he'd forgotten the whole Aiden thing, "- and I was driving too fast, missed the light... sorry."

Aiden tried to sleep after the long conversation between Jacklynn and him. They found alot of things that were similar between them and talked about their childhood and their siblings. There were some tears as well. But mostly, they were waching over their siblings, hoping that they would live.
Finally he dozed off. He didn't have a very good dream either. Alexandre was running away from him. Then Aiden stopped to catch his breath and Alexandre continued running and then a truck hit him. Aiden woke up instantly and shook his head to try to rid the dream. It was hard enough that his brother was almost half dead right in front of him. He covered his face with his hands once again. He stayed in that position for a while and then ran a hand through his hair. He was so stressed. His brother is half dead and the last thing he said to him was somewhere along the lines of words don't matter to me any more, it's the actions that matter. Aiden planted his face into his hands once again and this time stayed there.
A nurse came in and then there was a groan. Aiden shot his head up immediatly at the sound. "Alexandre?" Aiden stood up, his face bright with happiness. He was so happy that he could hear his brother's voice once again. When the nurse mentioned Aiden, Aiden walked over to Alexandre's bed side and smiled. "Hey sunshine." He smiled at his brother.
He let his brother say what he had to say. He nodded and then smiled. "And I'm sorry for saying all those things earlier today. I really didn't want to hurt you. I was just sort of angry and... I love you." He smiled once again and raised a hand but then put it back down to his side. "Don't forget that." He smiled once again, happy that his brother was alive.

Jacklynn couldn't help but cry. There was nothing else she could do. Her loving brother, who she didn't even properly meet at this school yet, was lying on a bed half dead. She continued to sob when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She didn't move, just continude to cry. Then she felt another hand touch her waist and pull her up. Jacklynn was weak, so she just placed her head on the person's chest. She looked up when she herd the voice coming from the person she was leening on. It was the water leader she saw sitting on a chair before. She simply nodded and continude to cry. Soon, the boy's shirt was soaked with her tears.
She was calm now and enjoying the conversation that she and Aiden were having. She spoke about her childhood with her siblings and listened to his childhood. They both laughed and looked over thair siblings together. Soon she got really tired and fell asleep. Her dream was more like flashbacks into the past. Like when she turned 5 and Shawn got her a teddy bear that she stil has right now, sitting on her bed in the dorm. And back then, when they still lived in that tiny house, when ever there was a thunderstorm she always run to her brother's room and he'd let her sleep with him. They were good flashbacks.
When she woke up she herd a groan, but it didn't come from Aiden. She looked around and saw that Alexandre woke up. She then curled up into a ball in her chair beside Shawns bedand look over at him. He was still unconcious. She let a tear trickle down her cheek and then hid her face in between her knees. When she herd Alexandre's voice talking to her. She looked up at him and then nodded when he finished. She knew he was sorry and she knew it was an accident that this happened. She also knew that there was nothing that she could do to save Shawn either. She just hoped that he'd live.

Alexandre smiled weakly as his brother apologized. "You have nothing to be sorry for," he protested lightly, shaking his head. "I'm the one that should have told you why I had to leave. I shouldn't have told you not to do everything I was doing, or at least I shouldn't have led a double life, Aiden. It was hardly fair to you, constantly living in the dark. I just wanted you to be happy, to be safe. I didn't want you involved with the kids on the street, didn't want you more concerned about a vicious popularity contest rather than your education. You have so much more than I did, and I wanted to protect that. But I tried too hard. So I'm the one who should be sorry, not you. Don't forget that."
He then smiled. "And I love you, too." He reached out to his brother and hugged him lightly, ignoring the fact that that made every bit of him scream in protest and pain. He just grit his teeth and beared the pain, not wanting to retract the gesture. Aiden meant so much to him, not even his own brother would know how much dedication he felt toward him.
A painful pang of pity was known for Jacklynn as Alexandre saw her nod, because he knew it was his fault that her brother was lying there, unconcious, unmoving. Alex just hoped Shawn would wake up soon, else he'd never forgive himself.

An annoying beeping sound brought his attention to the waking world, and Shawn wondered where he was. His head throbbed, and everywhere else ached, so he knew something bad must have happened to put him in such a condition. Then he remembered the car crash, and he moaned lightly, his forehead creasing into a pained grimace. He knew that he should blame Alex for what had happened, but of course, Shawn being Shawn, he didn't feel even the slightest amount of anger or resentment to the other boy. He just hoped that he wasn't dead, because his sister, what would she do without him? But when you were dead, you couldn't feel pain anymore, right? So he must still be alive. He tried to open his eyes.
His lids fluttered open, but he closed him in the next second because of the bright flourescent light directly above where he lay. Ouch, he though as he winced, that hurt. Then he opened his eyes again, prepared for the bright light this time. He turned his head to the side slightly so he didn't have to deal with it's annoying glare, and then gasped lightly when he saw his sister. His pained grimace immediatly smoothed into a soft, affectionate gaze as he looked over at her. "Jacklynn..." he mumbled. "You okay? And Alex, is he? The crash was pretty bad..."
Trust Shawn to think about everyone else besides himself.
