Swallowing hard to get rid of the lump in his throat, the seventeen year old boy shook his head, dark hair falling in a cascade and framing his pale face. It's okay, you're okay, he won't care, he told himself again and again, pacing the room and biting his lip, debating the best way to break the news to his best friend. 'Oh hi Conner, I'm a vampire.' This made him chuckle softly to himself, that was most likely the best way to do it. But he had to make this serious, because it was serious, and it was real. His best friend would probably think he was pulling one of his jokes again, as the two were always joking around with each other. You really had to look hard to find friends any closer than them. But then again, though he would trust Conner with his life, he didn't know whether to trust him with the secret. Granted, he knew that his best friend would never tell, but would things be different, a little more tense if Conner knew that he went out every night and drank blood? That would creep most people out. But he had to tell his friend. Somehow.

Just to make sure he didn't freak and back out, he decided that he needed some way to force himself into meeting with Conner and telling him. He took out his phone, flipped open the top, debating whether to call but instead chose text. It was impossible to hang up, that way.

Hey, Conner.

Just need to let you know a little something. It's serious, so if you don't mind I'd prefer if I could tell you in person. Keep in mind that whatever I say to you tonight is not a joke unless I tell you it is, alright? Meet you in the dungeons.

His text messages were never that serious, so Conner would probably think something bad had happened the minute he read it. Sighing, Alexandre pulled his All Time Low hoodie over his head, already wearing black jeans and a plain red shirt, then left. He made his way quick as possible down into the dungeons and leaned against a wall to wait for his friend.

He of course knew that Conner was near before Conner could possibly know he was in the area, his sharp hearing had picked up his friends footsteps even before the scent washed over him. He waited patiently for his friend, just allowing him to go slow as he wanted because Alexandre truthfully had no idea how he was going to say this to his best friend. He was usually fearless with his words, saying whatever he wanted whenever, and not really caring who thought, said or did what. This attitude often landed him in jail, or in the very least detention. This was the personality that gave him the reputation of a guy that everyone feared, because they knew when he threatened you, if he felt like hurting you, he would. He was just that type, he had never been the nicest of people. He rolled his eyes slightly at his friends words, but unlike usual, he didn't laugh. However a small, amused smile touched his lips as he turned toward Conner, flipping his dark hair from his eyes.

"Conner," he sighed, shaking his head slightly. "I know this isn't how I usually act, but I am honestly being dead serious with you right now." Ha, dead serious. What a word choice, because technically, in the mortal world Alexandre was either the walking dead, or walking miracle. His heart didn't beat, and his skin was ice cold to the touch. Which was why he usually didn't touch people unless he absolutely had to. Now, how to tell his best friend this? Best to just blurt it out, but he'd ask a little question first. "Hey Conner, before I tell you, just wondering - do you believe in all that shit like vampires and werewolves?"

He noticed the sort of worried look his friend got to him, it wasn't something everyone would notice but Alexandre knew his best friend almost as well as he knew himself, so the two could almost always tell when the other was feeling any sort of emotion, even if it wasn't obvious and strong. And it was obvious that Alexandre was feeling nervous and uncertain right now, so he wondered what kind of thoughts could be running through Conner's head right now. Did he notice? Alex figured that he would, after all it was pretty obvious by the tense way in which he moved, and the uncertainty in his gaze, that the vampire wasn't eager to reveal his secret. Best friends deserve to know though, so he was going to tell Conner if it killed him. And he hoped it wouldn't end their friendship, because that would just suck.

"Okay," he said with a sigh. "So technically, you do somewhat. Fuck, this doesn't make things any easier. I thought it would and god I'm rambling I should just come right out and say it but dude I know this is stupid and I shouldn't be afraid to tell you this but I am and I don't think I can but I have to and urghhh...." He said this very quickly and in one long sentence. He bit his lip, then thought I'm just going to have to come right out and say it...

He took a deep breath. "Okay, okay... fuck it. I'm a vampire! Damn that was hard!" He swallowed nervously and waited for his reaction. "I-I should have told you," he said nervously. 'I know I should have but I was worried about what you would think and... and..." he trailed off frantically.

Alexandre stayed completely still and tense while his friend touched him, unsure of what to make of things. Was Conner implying that he thought Alex was joking, was he checking to see if his fangs were real? That was the most likely explanation. His breathing was slow and shallow, like someone who was dying except for the fact that he was dead already. Knowing that you were dead was an extremely weird feeling at first, because you could still move and eat - though it didn't help the hunger/thirst - and sleep, but you were freezing cold and you had fangs. It had taken Alexandre quite a while to get used to the fact that he was fast and strong, and even still he was always accidentally crushing things with his hand with a tap that would hardly do much damage if he were human. Like his poor alarm clock, which was a whirring mess on his bedside table now.

Alexandre relaxed and joined in with his friends laughter when he said 'bros before species', relieved that Conner was still going to be his friend. He returned the hug enthusiastically, but he remember not to squeeze his friend, else that was bound to break a few of his ribs, and maybe his spine. That was another thing that made the strength of a vampire unnerving to him. "Man, you're the best!" he said genuinely. "And yeah I know I'm freezing," he laughed. "Technically I'm dead. Weird, huh?" He laughed when Conner tried to hide his pale skin. "I'll warn you if I ever think you need to worry about that," he joked.

Alexandre was grinning now, ecstatic and relieved that he still had his best friend despite the conditions. He honestly didn't know what he would do without Conner, probably go insane with boredom, the guy was so fun to be around. One thing about Alexandre; he looked completely and totally dark and evil, almost demonic, until he smiled. His entire face lit up and he looked like any other happy teenager, just with black hair, make-up, and vampire pale skin. So, almost like any other teenaged kid. "Dude, watch this," he said, dying to show off some of the things he'd learned ever since he was turned. He walked calmly down to the other end of the long, hallway, motioning for Conner to wait, then turned around and went full speed back to where he had been before, which took only around a second or two. "Isn't that awesome?"

He was in a really good mood now, all anxiety gone as he hung out with his best friend. "I'm really strong too, but believe me that's one thing you don't want a demonstration of." He grinned. "It's surprising how wrong all those legends and stories you hear about vampires are... like, seriously." He paused, then laughed and asked. "So, how does it feel to know you've been running around with a vampire every day for the past few months? I know we've known each other longer than that, but I didn't get... 'attacked' until a few months ago. I'm still getting used to it and all."

Alexandre laughed as he watched Conner's eyes widen, then let out a gasp of protest when Conner grabbed him, which quickly turned into a laugh as his friend ruffled his hair; he'd just been wondering what he'd been going to do before. He playfully spun around and returned the favour, gently - so he didn't strangle his friend - headlocking him and giving him a light noogie. He grinned and played aroiund with his lip ring using his tongue as he watched his friend, happy now.

He laughed even harder when Conner said that hanging out with a vampire was just like hanging out with the bad ass human Alexandre, and he shot his friend an impish grin, his pale face lighting up with a playful glance. He was like a little kid around his best friend, neither of them were happy just acting their age, they were content to be idiots 24/7 - but that didn't mean they couldn't be serious if they wanted to. They just hardly ever wanted to. He shook his head softly at his friends suggestion to steal food from the teachers lounge. "Human food; I ate at lunch. I need a different kind of thing, if you get my point. It's best if I hunt away from friends, because things can get rather dangerous. When I have better control over my... 'powers'-" he made air quotations "- then maybe I can show you how I hunt?" He grinned. "It's a good way to pick off your enemies and put them to good use. He laughed. "So I'd better go; I'll see you in the dorm later."

Talking about his thist had only made it worse, and he shuddered delicately, jerking his hand in a wave before he turned and left.
